(2009 May 15) On Thursday, May 14th, a loss of electrical power occurred in parts of eastern Ontario and western Quebec. As a result of the loss of power, the NRU reactor at AECL’s Chalk River facility was safely shut down. - AECL confirms sewage waste processing equipment contamination-free
(2009 May 07) As part of routine sewage handling at the Chalk River Laboratories (CRL), sludge slurry is collected, monitored and stored in a holding tank until it is de-watered.
