AECL Employees Ratify New Five-Year Collective Agreement

— AECL announced today that its employees, who are members of the Chalk River Professional Employees Group (CRPEG), and are affiliated with the Professional Institute of the Public Service Of Canada (PIPSC), have voted in favour of a new five-year collective agreement.

The Honourable Gary Lunn, Minister of Natural Resources, announced today that AECL has signed an agreement with Nucleoeléctrica Argentina S.A. that will advance co-operation in Canadian-developed CANDU nuclear power.

AECL Reports Incident At Chalk River Facilities
Chalk River, 2006 May 04
— At approximately 13:30 hours, AECL reported an emergency incident at its Chalk River Laboratories when a fire was reported in a lab facility. AECL's emergency and fire personnel responded and were able to contain the fire immediately.
