AECL’s commitment to
sustainable development starts at the top and is factored into all of its business planning activities. In 2004 and 2010, this commitment became evident at the Chalk River and Whiteshell Laboratories, respectively, when it achieved the ISO-14001 Environmental Management System certification, recognized internationally as a key to guiding organizations to environmental responsibility and continual improvement.
Overall, AECL’s environmental performance has been steadily improving in recent years.
