In this unprecedented time, communities are coming together across the country, to combat COVID-19. We at Atomic Energy Canada Limited (AECL) are proud to contribute to Canada’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our sites are home to some of Canada’s largest scientific installations. Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL), which operates our sites, has mobilized its scientists and engineers to apply expertise in support of innovative solutions to the challenges created by COVID-19. CNL is part of a team developing a ventilator model that is easy-to-produce, using off-the-shelf, easily accessible parts.

This morning, Prime Minister Trudeau highlighted the work of Dr. Art McDonald, TRIUMF, Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, and SNOLAB to develop an easy-to-produce ventilator using off-the-shelf, easily accessible parts.

I am incredibly proud of how employees at AECL and CNL, together with our partners across the country, have collaborated during this difficult and challenging time.
