CNL develops a ventilator to help the fight against COVID-19
CNL was part of a national and international team which developed the Mechanical Ventilator Milano (MVM), a ventilator model which is easy to use, using off-the-shelf, easily accessible parts. The Government of Canada ordered 10,000 of the units as part of the national effort to manage the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
AECL hosts Federal Nuclear Science and Technology Work Plan Workshop
In the fall of 2019, AECL hosted its first-ever workshop on the Federal Nuclear Science and Technology Work Plan in Ottawa. The objective was to disseminate the results of research and development activities by Canadian Nuclear Laboratories in the areas of health, safety and security, energy and the environment.
Over the span of five days, more than 400 participants came together to learn about recent science and technology advances, and to create new opportunities for collaboration and linkages across the sector.
