The Gentilly-1 prototype reactor is shut down
Gentilly-1 was operating sporadically as Gentilly-2 began construction and operation. It was found that it was no longer serving a specific mission and its operations were no longer considered cost-efficient. Located in Bécancour, Québec, the reactor remains in a safe shutdown.
